i do exaggerate at times ,times when u have to . like when u tell your wife s friend she is beautiful on the day of her wedding ,or,tell the wife her bum doesn t look big in those pants ,,or tell the guy he is well able to cast or is fishing well !!!!!! recent studies state that its important in development for adolescents to learnt to tell lies effectively !!! fact ..
i could nearly still class meself as a teenager with developing lying skills ..appologies if my fabrications are that obvious ,for i am mearly an apprentice amidst such seasoned fibbers!!!!

The title is what some of my acquaintances say when they go in the Witness Box!

If we all told the unvarnished truth all the time, could you imagine the fighting?

For example

Wife - "How was your tea, dear?

Husband "Well, it wasn't all that nice and not really to my liking"

it would be another night in the igloo for that remark - minimum

So it being a bit selective with your version of the truth can be a form of self-preservation as well as being a biit rude etc

I suspect one of the most important traits for a Gillie is to be a sales person.

Example ...I was talking to a gillie face to face and told him " I must get some

casting lessons off you " ...now in sales this is a hot offer to buy...a

salesman should immediately say yes of course , let me see when I can fulfil

your order/request! then arrange a time and place and advise costs , finally

completing order from client, there and then.

What did I get from the Gillie ..........phone me.... :(

Fishing East Mayo Waters last April and the bailiff comes rounds asking for tickets..No problem show him the ticket..Then I ask him was there anything caught..He goes 5 yesterday and 10 the day before... I never saw the surface break once that day..Me thinks someone telling porkies to sale plenty of day tickets..or maybe its just me :D
