    Default Deep Sea Angling

With the rivers being so low I decided to head out on the for a spot of deep sea angling last Sunday. had great sport on a going tide with several mackies and some monster pollack. was just using ordinary feathers on a going tide. Does anyone have any suggestions on what lure to use to target 10lb plus pollack?

Used to spin of the rocks in the summer with Plain silver or blue and silver tobies and they did the trick for everything. There was also a lure that was a solid piece of metal in the shape and colour of a small bait fish can't remember the name of it now, They did well too.

We also used to deep spin with the natural sandeel.

That was before the Shads appeared on the scene. I haven't tried them but seem to be the rage these days.

    8 - 12 " jelly worms fished on a wee lightish leadhead.
Cast uptide from the boat, let it reach bottom, then very very slowly wind in.
Do not strike if you feel a pluck, but keep on winding at that same slow pace.....they keep coming & plucking at it.
When the rod tip pulls right round just bend in to it, & hold on tight!!!!!
    Good luck.
