    Default the lower shannon

I love to wander around the lower Shannon looking for new places to fish, love the flats in Plassey the trout are small but its perfect for a quick visit to keep your hand in. In high summer i can leave my house at 8 in the evening and be fishing at 8.30 just in time for the evening hatch. My best tip is the corbally area of the Shannon for trout on the may fly, it gets a great hatch of fly and because its tidal you get big trout coming up from the long shore to feed, but before you get excited you need a boat and the fisheries board has banned boat angling on the lower Shannon from 2007. great way to promote angling well done ShRFB.

Hey there, does anyone know anything about spending a day salmon fishing (fly, hopefully) in Castleconnell or Plassey? Do the ESB do day permits? If so, can anyone recommend a good time of year?
